Projects in iTrade are designed for bigger, ongoing jobs that need more than a single invoice. Unlike standard jobs, projects give you tools for progress invoicing, detailed reporting, and managing multiple stages of work.

Working with Projects in iTrade:

Jobs vs Projects: What’s the Difference?

• Jobs: A job becomes one invoice when completed.
  

• Projects: A project can have unlimited invoices, making it ideal for long-term or multi-stage work.

Projects also include features like profit and loss reporting, variations, and the ability to break down work into schedules. You can always refer back to the built-in iTrade guide for a quick refresher on when to use projects.

Managing Visits and Assignments

Projects allow you to:

• Add visits (like jobs do) to make field workers “busy” and prevent double bookings.
  

• ·Assign ongoing project work to team members. These assignments show up in the worker’s job list in the iTrade app, but don’t block them from taking on other jobs.

Another difference is that field workers can add hours for any past dates, giving you more accurate time tracking on long jobs.

Maps and Site Tracking

Projects include a dedicated maps page that records GPS data for every worker and site visit.

This map shows:

• Where the worker was when they started, selected on-site, and completed the day’s visit.
  

• Any paused events, including when they left and returned to the site.

This view means you get a clear record of field activity across the entire duration of the project.

Profit and Loss Analysis

Where jobs show a simple margin in the charges tab, projects give you comprehensive profit and loss reporting.

You can:

• View detailed P&L inside each project.
  

• Generate a project analysis report in the reports module, covering all or selected customer projects.

This feature gives you full visibility over profitability at every stage.

Variations on Projects

One of the key advantages of projects is the ability to add variations:

• Add them from the server or directly in the field using the app.
  

• Field workers can estimate time and materials on-site and even collect the customer’s signature for approval.

This variation ability makes managing scope changes simple and professional.

Breaking Down Work with Schedules

Large projects often need to be staged. With iTrade, you can create multiple schedules inside a project. Each schedule can include time, materials, and scope of work, giving you flexibility in how you structure bigger jobs.
